420 Inland Championships Rutland

After checking how light the wind was going to be, I have to admit I wasn't looking forward to the Inlands. Eleni and I arrived at Rutland SC hoping that the wind would pick up, given we had had more training in windy conditions. The 420s are testing a new format of racing for their Autumn Series, starting after the keel boats from the RCYC line and racing around the "river marks."
The first race tested their navigational skills, as they all took to the water clutching their coursecards (and passports in case of mistakes!).
Otters on Tour
4th - 8th August 2008
Three 420s from the Otters took their passports and took the long trip across the Dengie to Stone Sailing Club - St Lawrence, for the annual Stone Week. They packed up their tents from Otter Week and shifted them down the road.

Congratulation to Katrina Hughes who achieved an outstanding first girl position (and third overall) in the 420 Class RYA Youth Championships. She and her helm Sophie Weguelin have been selected to represent the UK at the ISAF Youth Championships to be held at Weymouth in July.
